On leaving school, I started to train as an architect but then changed direction and worked instead in the Public Sector. However, art was in my blood. My father was an architect, my paternal aunt was a costume designer working in TV and films and my maternal aunt was an artist and musician. In 1996, after years of attending a variety of art-related leisure classes, I enrolled on an open access printmaking course at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth (now the Arts University College at Bournemouth) and became hooked! I was encouraged to further my fine art training and went on to complete the Foundation in Fine Art, followed by an HNC in Fine Art/Printmaking.

In 2003, I bought my own press and now work from home in Wimborne.
